Several different types of formal evaluations are available through the Okemos branch of the Erickson Learning Center. Form evaluations provide the client with an assessment of their learning style and their strengths and weaknesses in learning. The evaluation includes an intake interview, diagnostic evaluation, and written report with summary of scores and recommendations.
Achievement Evaluations can be done in math, reading, and/or writing. These evaluations use tools that will pinpoint skills and concepts that are mastered in these subject areas and skills and concepts that need further development. Recommendations will be included based upon the outcomes of the tests and the case history. Another type of evaluation is a Language Assessment. This type of evaluation will test for visual or auditory processing deficits and strengths and will evaluate the client's phonological processing skills to see if the characteristics of Dyslexia are present. Recommendations will also be part of this evaluation process. The final type of evaluation that is available is an Educational Psychological Evaluation to determine if an individual has a learning disability. As with the other evaluations, recommendations for educational planning are part of the evaluation process.
